What Private Drug Rehab Will Accomplish

Drug Abuse, Drug Addiction Recovery September 20th, 2008

Some treatment facilities will tell you that they can help you get sober within a month, or even within a few weeks. At Cliffside Malibu, they’re more inclined to tell you the truth.

The plain fact of the matter is that recovery is and must be a multiphase process. It starts with a successful intervention, then continues with detox and primary residential treatment programs. After that, sober living services and 12 Step programs help addicts become healthy and functional members of their communities. All those steps take time, which is why Cliffside Malibu will never pretend that substance abuse rehabilitation can be done quickly or without effort. The good news, though, is that Cliffside’s expert caregivers can give you all the support you need to get where you’re trying to go.

It should go without saying that rehab can only be successful if it’s done the right way. If someone tells you you can get sober overnight, it’s a safe bet that he doesn’t really understand what’s at stake in the fight against addiction. With so much to lose, and so much more to win, you can’t afford to settle for marginal care. Cliffside Malibu is the best in the business. Let today be the day you do something for YOU, enter into the finest rehab facility on the planet.

Senator appeals to governor not to evict drug rehab center

Uncategorized September 20th, 2008

THE chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), Vicente “Tito” Sotto, said he would ask Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia to reconsider the provincial government’s plan to recover the lot occupied by the Cebu City Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (CCTRC).

In a press conference yesterday, Sotto said he would meet Garcia to ask for solutions that would keep the center in its current location.

CCTRC is located in barangay Apas beside the old Bagong Buhay Rehabilitation Center (BBRC).

If the governor decides to recover the lot, Sotto said he would ask her assistance for the smooth transfer of the center.

Supt. Pablo Polestico polonio, CCTRC chief, said he has yet to receive a notice to vacate but he was already informed of the planned recovery of the lot.

The CCTRC is a government-run rehabilitation center that houses around 200 drug dependents.

The center is run by the Department of Health (DOH) and under the DDB.

Sotto said he was hoping that the DDB could get sufficient budget next year for the improvement of drug rehabilitation centers in the country. Sotto visited the center yesterday and noted that the facility needed some improvements.

Chief Supt. Ronald Roderos, chief of Police Regional Office (PRO-7), reported that 80 percent of the drug personalities in the police watch list have been arrested by joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agencies (PDEA) and Cebu police.

AARP, Drug Rehab: Drug Abuse in ‘Golden Years’

Alcohol Abuse September 20th, 2008

The adage “Older and wiser” does not seem to apply to those addicted to drugs.

A report by the 2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) showed a spike in drug use among 55-59-year-olds.

“Where most people tend to mellow with age, trends show that those entering their ‘Golden Years’ are struggling with drug addiction at an alarming rate,” comments Mary Rieser, Executive Director for Narconon Drug Rehab GA. “Many factors contribute to this trend: financial troubles, losses, the normal aches and pains associated with age are ‘cured’ by prescription drugs as well as illegal drugs.

“These problems then compound as the person is struggling with drug addiction as well as their economic woes and personal losses.

“Narconon Drug Rehab GA has seen an increase in older people seeking help for drug and alcohol addiction in the last few years.  Where the average age of our clients has been in the mid twenties, we are now helping those in their fifties and sixties.”

The level of current illicit drug use among those aged 55 to 59 has more than doubled, to 4.1 percent in 2007, confirming concerns that baby boomers have continued their higher levels of substance abuse as they age.

“Whether they are 16 or 60, head of a corporation or homeless, drug abuse can and does affect everybody,” comments Ms. Rieser. “It can affect one personally, one’s family, one’s job, one’s community. There is no shame in seeking help. All of us deserve to live a long and happy life, and drug addiction will do nothing but cut this life short.”

An effective drug and alcohol rehabilitation center

Alcohol Interventions September 20th, 2008

The only effective drug and alcohol rehabilitation center is the one that recognizes the fundamental uniqueness of each and every one of its clients. As obvious as that sounds, the truth is that too many “exclusive” drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers in Los Angeles make the mistake of offering generic and generalized treatment programs. That’s a recipe for failure. In the end, the drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that’s right for you is the one that’s passionately committed to helping you get sober on your own terms. With so much to lose, and so much more to win, you can’t afford to settle for anything less than that.

You don’t need to be told what’s at stake in the drug and alcohol treatment process. You know that addiction ruins lives. No less importantly, you know that rehab can save them. Now all that remains is for you to do what you must. The day you enroll in a private drug and alcohol rehabilitation treatment center will be the first day of the rest of your life. It’s hard to imagine how anyone could need any more persuading than that.

Do you think Cavemen got cancer?

Drug Abuse September 18th, 2008

Have you ever thought how our environmental factors effect our health? Like what little things they put into our food containers, food, water etc that could be contributing to cancer? Not to mention the air that we breathe? Vaccines? What do YOU think?

no. cavemen didn’t have access to this highly processed junk that’s killing the rest of us. they didn’t eat french fries or other fried foods. yum! with the invention of the automobile and factories it’s a wonder that we’re all not full of cancer or dead. the price we pay for technology go figure.

Should you question people in drug rehab?

Should you question people in drug rehab? September 18th, 2008

My friend’s mom is in rehab and she’s been giving her the 3rd degree about everything that she did, why she did it, etc.
Is it good or bad that she’s questioning her? Her mom really didn’t want to talk about the past and wanted to talk about now instead.

It’s hard to say. How do you know the answers are truthful answers? Drug addicts and alcholics tend to lie so it is hard to know if the truth is being said or not.

I guess it would not hurt to ask questions, but at the same time, be careful what you believe.

Can you do drug rehab at home ?

Uncategorized September 18th, 2008

I suppose you could. I think they call it going cold turkey.

You would need someone there (round the clock) with some sort of medical background to watch over you to make sure you didn’t need to go to the E.R. for complications. Since this isn’t a very pleasurable job to do I don’t think you could get anyone to volunteer to do it.

All in all leave re-hab to the professionals!

What measures have been taken in the past to provide rehab to drug users through governmental funding?

Alcohol Abuse September 18th, 2008

The only effective drug treatment programs i have heard of that are successful and government controlled are the ones used in China……They cure drug pushers and sever addicts with a 7.62 cal. in the back of the head…….I think that would work anywhere………….
